Marius & Annerien

Annerien and Marius De Wet epitomize the essence of familial joy and shared experiences. As a devoted couple with three daughters, their focus centers on fostering a warm, family-oriented, and loving atmosphere. Their shared interests in travel, animals, gastronomy, and cultural exploration underscore their down-to-earth nature.

Having spent a meaningful 14 years in Doha, Qatar, the De Wets cultivated a spirit of adventure that harmoniously coexists with their deep-rooted connection to South Africa. An annual return to their treasured beach house in Glentana, a property steeped in family history, reflects their commitment to preserving tradition. Envisioning a transformation of this historical abode into a luxurious retreat, they coined the name "Marien" as a testament to their harmonious union and marine life.

With genuine smiles and an innate willingness to assist, the De Wets extend an invitation to share in the timeless allure of Marien—a dream seaside home that encapsulates the heart of their story.

“We love to share our stunning home and views with people who appreciate life, love and celebrations. Although you will have total independence, we are always just downstairs if you need anything.”

The History

The History

Constructed in 1946, the old beach house was among the first dwellings in Glentana Heuwels. Handcrafted by Annerien's grandfather, it served as a cherished haven for generations, fostering countless moments of joy, adventure, and familial connection. Christmas celebrations were particularly enchanting, with tinsel adorning walls and laughter resonating throughout. Even during a flood that transformed the lower driveway into a makeshift river, the resilient old beach house stood steadfast, and children made the best of it by getting their hands on a boat. In those days, thriving wildlife added to the allure – encounters with baby deer and glimpses of wild cats were commonplace. The old beach house held its ground until 2021, paving the way for Marien Beach House. While she may be gone, the memories live on in our hearts, a testament to a bygone era we'll forever cherish.
